How an Approved Leave Request Affects Payroll

When an employee is on leave and timecards are generated, timecards are created using the earning code associated with the shift activity for the absence.

If shifts have not been plotted on a schedule for an employee who normally appears on the schedule but has an approved leave in the pay period, no timecards will be created during timecard expansion. Exceptions are generated if the employee has no timecards for the pay period, or if the employee is over/under their standard period gross, which alerts the payroll clerk that further investigation may be required.
